Graduating from the University of Arizona College of Medicine where she earned her MD degree, Dr. Nour also earned a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Oklahoma Center for Neurosciences. Dually trained at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a vascular and interventional neurologist, Dr. Nour helped found the Arline & Henry Gluck Mobile Stroke Rescue Program as its medical director. Under her care, California’s first Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) began clinical operations in 2017 and continues to operate in Los Angeles County. She has helped advise the startup of multiple national MSUs and has extensive experience in establishment of MSUs and their integration into clinical practice, prehospital medicine and emergency medical systems of care. As the PI, Co-PI and Investigator of multiple clinical trials in the fields of vascular neurology and neurointervention, Dr. Nour has extensive experience in clinical trial design, assessment and outcome analysis. She lends her vast experience and expertise, fueled by her passion to transforming the landscape of neurological care.
Dr. James (Jimi) Shanahan is a seasoned artificial intelligence expert with over 30 years of experience spanning industry, academia, and entrepreneurship. He spent 20 years in Silicon Valley, contributing to Fortune 500 companies such as Xerox, AT&T, Adobe, Akamai, and Target, while also founding several successful ventures. His AI-driven innovations have powered products and services used by billions worldwide, generating billions in annual revenue. In academia, he was a founding faculty member of UC Berkeley’s Master’s in Data Science program in 2014, now the university’s largest graduate program. He also served as Director of the AI Solutions Hub at Northeastern University’s Institute for Experiential AI and Professor of Practice at Khoury College of Computer Sciences. At Northeastern, he led a multidisciplinary team delivering over 20 Responsible AI projects across financial services, ed-tech, healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing, while also spearheading business development, achieving a 10X revenue increase. He has published 50+ research papers, authored eight books, and holds 25 patents. Actively engaged in AI conferences and workshops, he holds a Ph.D. in machine learning and computer vision. Outside of AI, he enjoys tennis, kiteboarding, golf, and sailing.
Val Nenov, emeritus professor from the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery, holds an engineering degree in microelectronics from CVUT Prague, along with Ph.D. degrees in Neuroscience and Computer Science from UCLA.
He is the founder and CEO of Brainventions, Inc., Global Care Quest, and Val9000, and holds several U.S. and international patents. Val specializes in AI, neural networks, natural language processing, speech recognition, and data mining, and has been the recipient of several NIH grants. He has developed software and hardware solutions for critical care and served as Director of Biostatistics and Data Management for multiple large clinical trials.
Reseacher and entrepreneur with extensive experience in tools for testing and debugging machine learning code that speed up development, save hours of fighting elusive bugs and provide deep theoretical insights. Together with Daniel Angelov, he developed a successful platform for testing ML models.
Experienced and accomplished software engineer with over 20 years of proven success in the industry. Highly skilled in various aspects of software development with expertise in coding across multiple programming languages, requirements analysis and specification, dev-ops, UX design, and agile methodologies.
Experienced researcher in AI and robotics field with background in developing ML for medical applications. Together with Dr. Penkov, he works on methods for extracting structured mechanisms and representations from raw data resulting in explainable and robust models.
SA Vice-Chair and Professor of Neurology at UCLA, and Director of the UCLA Comprehensive Stroke and Vascular Neurology Program. Author of over 670 research articles, 3 books, and 40 book chapters, Dr. Saver’s research interests are in acute stroke treatment, stroke prevention, neuroimaging, clinical trial design, and neurocognitive consequences of stroke.
Professor of Neurology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he is Director of the UCLA Stroke Center. He is Director of the Neurovascular Imaging Research Core, leading global efforts to advance data science and precision medicine of stroke imaging for prevention, acute therapies and recovery after stroke.
